The Kassen Brothers are producers, writers and directors for Film, Television and Theatre.
As the Managing Partners of Trigger Street Independent, the Kassen Brothers partnered with two-time Academy Award winner Kevin Spacey to make a slate of independently financed feature films. Their most recent film productions are “Bernard and Doris” (staring Academy Award winner Susan Sarandon, Academy Award nominee Ralph Fiennes and directed by Academy Award Nominee Bob Balaban (“Gosford Park”), “The Sasquatch Gang” (from the makers of “Napoleon Dynamite”, starring Justin Long) and Mr. Gibb” (starring Tim Daly, Hayden Panettiere and Sarah Steel). “Bernard and Doris” is to be released this winter by HBO and Picturehouse. “The Sasquatch Dumpling Gang,” which won the Audience Award at 2006’s Slamdance Film Festival and won Best Director and Best Actor awards at the 2006 Aspen Comedy Festival is being released this Fall by SONY BMG/Screen Media. “Mr. Gibb” is currently in post-production. Other film producing credits include: “Trigger Happy” for IFC Productions and Think Film’s “Looking for Kitty”, directed by Ed Burns. The Kassen Brothers are the writers, directors and executive producers of the “Skyy Vodka Filmmaker Competition”, a program that includes filmmakers at various festivals across the United States. They are currently on the Advisory Board and are Programmers of the Vail Film Festival.
Recent television producing, writing and directing credits include: the new television shows “Minor Accomplishments of Jackie Woodman”, a one-camera half-hour scripted comedy for IFC (series is currently in it’s second season); “Celebrity Charades”, a multi-camera half-hour reality show for AMC with Hilary Swank, Chad Lowe and Bob Balaban, IFC’s cartoon “Hopeless Pictures” (Michael McKean, Jennifer Coolidge and Lisa Kudrow), and “No Joking” for Court TV and the Sundance Channel (Eric Bogosian, Janeane Garofalo and Richard Dreyfuss). Other TV projects include: the American versions of the RDF Media series “Faking It” for TLC, and “Wife Swap” for ABC, the pilot “Roommate Wanted”, for Comedy Central and the documentary “the Short Shot Experiment”. For Fox Television Studios, the Kassen Brothers executive-produced, wrote and directed the scripted pilot “Slogan”. In addition, they had an overall deal with MTV Networks for VH1 where they developed and wrote the pilot “Flummerfelt Brothers”. Currently they are developing the new scripted comedy “House Husband” with the Oxygen Network.
Adam and Mark wrote and produced the multi-media theatrical play “Perfect” at the Tiffany Theatre (funded by Danny DeVito, Rhea Perlman and Jean Doumainian) and most recently the critically acclaimed off-Broadway, multi–media play “little Willy”, directed by John Gould Rubin, at the Ohio Theatre.
