DIFF has extended the submission deadline.  The new deadline for submission is September 16th, 2007.

All entries must be postmarked by that date, so keep an eye on your calendar!  Just a reminder,
we have four film categories: FEATURE, DOCUMENTARY, SHORT AND LATIN AMERICAN.
See the DIFF website for more information!

We are happy to announce that we have two bright faces that will be joining us at DIFF this year!

Manny Perez, who is quickly becoming one of the most recognizable Latino Actors in Hollywood, will co-star in nine films, with both independent and major releases scheduled for 2007-2008.  Making an unmistakable presence starring opposite Jennifer Lopez and Mark Anthony in El Cantante, Manny is sure to continue to make his name and face known throughout the film.  More on Manny…

Another exciting guest at DIFF this year will be Kate Nauta.  Born in Woodburn, Oregon, this small town girl could only dream of what her life (let alone her career) would hold in store for her down the road.  You may recognize Kate as the bloodthirsty, unruly, lingerie clad assassin in the movie Transporter 2 and currently co-starring with the Rock in the movie The Game Plan, but Kate is more focused on her music now more than ever.  After hearing just a few tracks she layed down, we begged Kate to perform at our festival’s opening bash.  We are certain it is only a matter of time before Kate Nauta is known in every household from here to the Dominican Republic and all the way back home in Oregon. More on Kate…

We are proud to announce a new award category this year at DIFF.  We have decided to add the Dominican Rising Star Award to this years festival.  This award is given to an individual actor whom has had a successful continually rising career and has been a representative of the Dominican Community throughout their career.  Stay tuned for more information on who these awards will be presented to…

We are thrilled to announce a brand new sponsor of DIFF this year. Director’s Cut is the first mobile film and imaging studio dedicated to children.  Director’s Cut provides the opportunity for children between the ages of 5-17 to experiment with digital film and imaging software.

What could be better than getting the chance as a child to make a work of your own?!

We will provide two workshops during the festival where your child can participate in these activities. Stay tuned for more information and how to get signed up!
