Cine Roma

The Dominican International Film Festival is continuing it’s tradition in giving back to the Dominican community through our Cine Roma film program.

Cine Roma was created to give the local Dominican community an opportunity to see quality films that they would normally never get a chance to see free of charge. This year, Cine Roma was held on resort property in the Theatre Lounge. The program was a great success and featured the film Pretendiendo, written, directed, and produced by filmmaker Claudio Dabed on Friday night at the Cine Roma opening night ceremony.Claudio was in attendance and conducted a Q & A session following his film. The film was warmly received and loved by all festival goers and guests in attendance. In addition to this Cine Roma opening night film, we featured four other Spanish Language features and a special collection of shorts that were written and directed by local Dominican filmmakers.

The Dominican filmmakers were in attendance and also did a Q & A session following their respective films. The collection of shorts were brought to us through Luis Gonzalez, Director of Cinemateca Dominicana.
