RAMON
RODRIGUEZ: ACTOR
Ramon
Rodriguez just may be our modern day’s Renaissance-Man;
simply speaking of Ramon’s perpetual involvement in sports,
music, dance, and acting can make one exhausted. After
graduating from New York University, Ramon has an accomplished
career in acting, dancing, music, and even hoops!
Ramon
has been seen as a regular on ABC’s “Day Break,” with Taye
Diggs. After exciting audiences with roles on HBO’s
“The Wire,” FX’s “Rescue Me,” and NBC’s “Law & Order:
SVU,” it seems Ramon has found a fantastic home on the small
screen. The critically acclaimed show “The Wire” has
brought back Ramon’s character Renaldo for their final and
5th season.
On
the big screen, Ramon is having a great year with five films
coming out starting with “IRA & ABBY” on Sept. 14th.
Followed by the award winning film “BELLA” on Oct. 26th.
Then in March 2008 he can be seen in New Line Cinema’s “PRIDE
& GLORY”, starring Ed Norton and Colin Farrell and also
starring in “THE START UP”. Finally he recently wrapped
on “Surfer, Dude” starring opposite Matthew McConaughey
and Woody Harrelson, which is expected to be released summer
2008.
Past
credits include DEALBREAKER, directed by Gwyneth Paltrow,
CARLITO’S WAY: RISE TO POWER, I’M BORICUA, JUST SO YOU KNOW,
directed by Rosie Perez and THE WANNABE.
When
not in front of the cameras, Ramon Rodriguez can be found
working with the Abakua Latin Dance Company – an internationally
touring salsa dance company he has been a part of since
2001. He has performed with Abakua at Madison Square
Garden in NYC, Puerto Rico, Chicago, Los Angeles, and more.
Even when not dancing, Ramon is still on his feet… on the
basketball court. In 2001 Ramon founded a basketball
performance group called “Project Playground,” which has
performed at numerous NBA and college half time games, including
the Dallas Mavericks and New York Knicks, as well as NCAA
champion schools University of Florida, University of Connecticut,
and Tennessee. The group has also wowed audiences at festivals
and corporate events worldwide. To relax, Ramon enjoys playing
the piano and congas, dining-out, and spending time with
family.
Ramon
Rodriguez currently resides in New York City.
